Flowers
We grow a wide variety of cut flowers including Sunflowers, Zinnias, Statice, Stock, Calendula, Snapdragons, Celosia, Ageratum, Amaranth, and more. We grow these flowers using organic growing methods without the use of dangerous chemicals or pesticides. We thoroughly believe that we are stewards of this land, and therefore it should be treated with the utmost respect. To us, that means being respectful of the soil and organisms that live in it. It also means being kind to the beneficial insects and pollinators that are so important to us.
Since we live on our farm, we believe it’s very important that Emlia Acres is a safe place for our children, pets, and ourselves to live and play. This means not spraying or spreading anything on our flowers that we wouldn’t want our young daughters to touch. To keep the flowers happy, we make use of a combination of Dairy Doo and other products from Morgan's Composting, which is a sustainable, organic, Michigan-based company. To learn more about the many benefits of purchasing locally grown flowers, check out this great article in Mother Earth News.
Our flowers can be found at the Downtown Petoskey Farmers Market every Friday from 8:30-1 p.m. and at the Harbor Springs Farmers Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. You can purchase flowers on our website for on-pickup or delivery as well. We also sell flower stems by the bucket as well for all of the DIY'ers out there!
